Bike & Boat
Cycle aboard!
Combining cycling with boat travel makes your adventure even more memorable. There are several different route options and ships that allow you to bring your bike along.
For example, Hopealinjat’s boats on Lake Pyhäjärvi and the steamship Tarjanne on Lake Näsijärvi offer multiple route possibilities. You can buy a Bike & Boat ticket in advance from the online store or from Hopealinjat’s Tampere office at Laukontori 10. The ticket can be purchased for any route or segment of the journey.
You can also combine a boat trip and cycling on several other routes. You’ll find more details below.
And don’t forget to check out the Bike & Boat charter cruises as well.

Onto the waves of Lake Pyhäjärvi with Hopealinjat
Harbours: Tampere – Nokia – Lempäälä – Toijala – Visavuori – Lepaa – Aulanko – Lempäälä – Hämeenlinna
Hopealinjat’s signature route on the Pyhäjärvi side runs between Tampere and Hämeenlinna, passing through the beautiful landscapes of Lakes Pyhäjärvi and Vanajavesi. The boat departs from Laukontori in Tampere, and along the way you can admire the impressive ridges of Pyynikki and Pispala, the striking narrow strait of Sotkanvirta, the Lempäälä Canal, and much more — all while enjoying a relaxing journey, whether you choose to savor the restaurant’s offerings or simply rest in the middle of your cycling trip.
Along the route, the boat stops in Nokia, Lempäälä, Toijala, and Visavuori, where you can visit sculptor Emil Wikström’s artist home as well as the famous political cartoons of his grandson, Kari Suomalainen. From Visavuori, you can continue all the way to Hämeenlinna, with additional stops at the harbors of Lepaa and Aulanko. There is also the possibility to stop at a few other harbors with advance booking. For more details, check Hopealinjat’s website.

Bike & Boat charter cruise on Lake Näsijärvi aboard MS Nottbeck
You can also book a private Bike & Boat cruise on Lake Näsijärvi for your group, combining cycling with a boat trip. The deck of MS Nottbeck can accommodate 25 bicycles and their riders, plus additional passengers without bikes if needed. This works well, for example, on a workplace wellbeing day if some participants prefer a round‑trip boat journey instead of cycling.
Great cycling destinations along the way include Pimeesalmi Shipyard, Aitolahti – the Ensilä pier at Kiikkisensalmi, and farther away the harbors of Kuru and the Murole Canal. Even further along the route you’ll find Ruovesi. Very close by, there is also a new pier in Halkoniemi.
There are also ready‑made package options available for different kinds of Bike & Boat trips. Check out more details below.
