Cycling and boating at lake Näsijärvi is a match made in heaven. This very old boating route is called the “Poet’s Way” and it takes you on a unique and nostalgic journey through the most beautiful lake sceneries of Finland. It is truly a trip to remember. The route has inspired numerous well-known Finnish artists, from Johan Ludvig Runeberg to Akseli Gallen-Kallela. Runeberg used to live in Ruovesi, a harbour along the Poet´s Way, and it is where he wrote many of his famous poems.

The complete Poet’s Way route from Tampere to the last harbour, Virrat, takes 8 hours, but there are many stops along the way where you can get off (or on) and continue your journey by bicycle, or vice versa. The starting point is Mustalahti harbour located right next to the famous Särkänniemi Amusement Park.

The online shop for ticket booking for the Hopealinjat boats is only in Finnish, but you can also buy tickets from the Hopealinjat ticket counter at the Laukontori harbour, located at Laukontori 10, Tampere.
